Director/Designer/Editor/Producer

Alan is an award winning director/designer/editor/producer from Statesboro, GA; now based in South Western Virginia. He went to school at Ogeechee Technical College for Hospitality and Tourism Management, and then Georgia Southern University for Theatre and Performance. Alan began his professional career at the Averitt Center for the Arts, and has worked regionally with the Weston Playhouse Theatre Company.

Since early 2020 Alan has been producing, editing, and facilitating multiple virtual productions and films for various organizations as they navigate the COVID pandemic. These include the Drama League award nominated production of The Last 5 Years from Out of the Box Theatrics, the world premiere production of IMPACT by Amy Engelhardt, Tolerance Party a Zoom inspired web series in collaboration with the cell theatre, and multiple new works with Slippery Rock University including the fully virtual Making Melrose.


His Off Broadway credits include work with Abingdon Theatre Company, Bard City, Barrow Street Theater, Classic Stage Company, Fiasco Theater, Keen Company, New World Stages, New York Theatre Barn, Red Bull Theater, Sheen Center, SITI Company, Transport Group, Trusty Sidekick Theatre Company, and The Duke on 42nd.

Assorted other credits include All Stars Project, Breaking Legs Productions, Broadway For All, Company of Fools, Hamlet Isn't Dead, Holmdel Theatre Company,  Randomly Specific Theatre, Ript Theatre Company, Shadowbox Theatre, Shellscrape Theatre Company, The blackOUT Company, Theatre Row, and The United Solo Theatre Festival. 
He has also spent a considerable amount of time directing and recording audiobooks for Recorded Books in NYC.
